📉 Backlog Impact
A backlog hurts your CGPA twice over: a failing grade contributes zero quality points, yet its credits still count in the divisor. That means every failed subject actively drags your average down rather than simply sitting out of the calculation — and the more credits it carries, the bigger the drag.
The good news is that the effect largely reverses when you clear the backlog. Replacing an F with even a modest passing grade restores those quality points and can recover your CGPA substantially.
