The CGPA grading system is a standardized evaluation method where student performance is measured on a point-based scale rather than traditional percentage marks. CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) aggregates performance across all semesters into a single score, typically on a 10-point scale in India.

What is a Good CGPA Score?
A “good” CGPA depends on your goals:
- For campus placements: Most IT companies require 6.5+ CGPA (61.75%+). Top companies like Google, Microsoft require 7.5+ or 8.0+
- For higher education: Top Indian universities expect 8.0+ for masters programs. IITs typically require 7.5+ for M.Tech admissions
